Commitment Sunday & Summer Ministry Offering

I am looking forward to this Sunday, even more than usual. We have regularly paired these two events together (perhaps, sometimes creating confusion in doing so) because they are both important in the life of our church.

We have been immensely blessed as a church – and I believe, used in the life of many for God’s glory – through our intern ministry. If you don’t know about our intern ministry you can watch a video about it here

and here

This Sunday we will have the opportunity to hear from a recent intern and a former intern and a member of the church about how the intern ministry has impacted their lives and our church. We will also be taking an offering, as we ask the Lord to provide for the extra expenses of the summer ministry (including the interns). We are asking the Lord to provide $40,000.

The intern ministry is a ministry we love and in one sense, the interns who come will labor in our midst and alongside of us for the summer – but they are not the laborers we need most and value most.

We will also take time this Sunday to give thanks for all the ways God is using our church family to labor for His kingdom in our homes, this neighborhood, our city and around the world. You can read about some of our different ministries here:

But I am thinking particularly of the ministries that happen through individual lives living out the gospel as well.  We will have a couple of people sharing about ways they have been blessed by praying for laborers and inviting others to come and be a part of the church family here at Springs – and even how God used the prayer and labors of others to bring them here. As a part of this time, we will ask you to make a commitment to pray regularly for God to bring laborers into His work here over the rest of the year.

I am excited about sharing a brief message from God’s Word on top of these testimonies that I am hopeful will be a challenge and an encouragement to us.

Please be in prayer for this Sunday. See you there.

Pastor Joe
