"…to the praise of the glory of His grace…" Ephesians 1:6

SCHEDULE CHANGES

WE ARE MAKING A FEW CHANGES IN THE SCHEDULE FOR THE FALL. WE THINK THEY WILL HELP US BE MORE EFFECTIVE AT LOVING PEOPLE AND ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER TO LOVE GOD AND INVEST IN HEAVEN. CHANGE IS ALWAYS MORE DIFFICULT THAN STAYING PUT BUT WE ARE REALLY HOPEFUL THAT THE CHANGES WILL LET US LOVE BETTER. IF WE SEE THAT THE CHANGES AREN’T HELPING THEN WE WILL SWITCH BACK OR TWEAK THE CHANGES.

SUNDAY MORNINGS will stay the same:

9:30 children’s puppet time and Adult fellowship time – this is a great time to come and visit with one another and with guests – often there are adults from the homeless shelter or neighborhood as well as other members of the church family that would benefit from your conversations and prayers

9:45 – bible classes for each age group including adults – the adult time consists of an opening verse and brief exhortation, followed by an extended opportunity for us to gather into small groups and pray for each other and for the ministry, then the last 20 minutes or so we are currently studying through the book of Exodus
10:45 – Worship Service – We try to make this time as vertically oriented as possible – so that our thoughts are directed towards the Lord and how we might live and love with heaven in mind

SUNDAY NIGHTS – NEW (ALL BUT THE LAST SUNDAY NIGHT OF THE MONTH)

6:00 pm we will gather together for worship, prayer, exhortation, and fellowship – A couple of times a month we will focus in on a prayer area and break up in groups to pray. Some nights we will have more of a “Corinthian” style worship service where the body will be more involved in sharing. We will occasionally use this time to focus on a ministry project but the big goal is to pray together more. THE LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH WE WILL CONTINUE TO GATHER IN HOMES FOR SMALL GROUPS.

7:30 PREACHER SCHOOL in ONE HOPE ACADEMY ROOM

MONDAY-THURSDAY 3:00-5:00 getAHEAD after school tutoring program (We have many openings available to help every day or once a week, or in a variety of time slots. WE ALSO ARE TRYING TO PLUG IN AS MANY OF OUR ADULTS AS POSSIBLE AS MENTORS. This is a minimum of 1 hour/week commitment. The hour can take place any afternoon following getAHEAD at the church. It can take place on Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:45 at the church (the mentor will need to coordinate with their student to make sure they are at the church), or it can take place any other time of the week. We think it is ideal for the tutoring to take place after or before one of the times the church gathers together or at the church building in order to increase the sense of attachment to the Lord through His church but their are few limitations to times you can mentor.
THERE IS AN IMPORTANT TRAINING SESSION FOR MENTORS NEXT SUNDAY at 5:00 pm

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS – 6:15-6:45 we will have a light meal for our youth (hamburgers or chili, etc.) – This will be for youth and youth staff only. It is not a Summerfest type meal for the whole church family – sorry!

6:45-8:15 – Youth Worship Service, Small groups, fellowship (We are still looking for volunteers to help with our youth ministry. If you are interested in serving in this area either on a Youth Parent Council or as a small group leader or worship leader – contact Jared Tabor at 918 208-2222)

6:45-7:30 – Mission Memorization (We are still looking for volunteers to help with Mission Memorization. We are hoping to staff this time with people who are not leading the getAHEAD times. If you are interested in helping with this, please contact Joe Blankenship at 918 7600089)
THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ORGANIZED ADULT PROGRAM ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS FOR NOW

We still have Tuesday Night Bible Study at the Day Center and Thursday night Bible Study at the University of Tulsa campus.

TUESDAY MORNINGS from 10:00-11:30 there will be a ladies Bible Study on 1 Peter.

Hope this helps give some explanation. If you have questions don’t hesitate to ask. Pray that the Lord will help us be more effective at the life giving/hope giving mission that He has called us to. We truly are weak people who Jesus has taken and made glad and called us on this life giving/hope giving mission and given us the presence and power of His Holy Spirit and the authority of His gospel!

Thankful to serve with you,

Joe
