Urgent Prayer Request from Jack and Holly (Faces 4 Hope)

Urgent Prayer Request: A Cry against War has gone out through Northern Tanzania, as the Maasai are fighting each other for water and cattle grazing rights. Please pray for PEACE and RAIN. Thousands of Bush Maasai and just as many Arushan Maasai have met in Engikaret, one of the villages where Faces 4 Hope has focused on. There is no peace in sight unless it rains. Please pray for all these Maasai involved in Engikaret and Arusha and all the villages in between. Pray for safety, peace, and most of all RAIN.

Below and attached is a Faces 4 Hope Update for September, 2012. Please let us know if you regularly read emails for updates, by a reply of “Yes” and anything else you might want to add. We can send an update letter in the mail if we do not hear from you. Thank you.

Dear Friends and Family, September Update, 2012

We apologize we have not sent an update sooner. Jack and I have decided to take this fall to work on personal growth and Faces 4 Hope from the stateside. We hope to return to Tanzania after the beginning of this next year. We appreciate your patience, and continued support in your partnership with Faces 4 Hope. You are making an impact in people’s lives.

Faces 4 Hope continues to grow in East Africa, as more children are being supported. There is still a need for more sponsors. We are very thankful to all of you who have stepped forward to provide for these children. Their lives are forever changed because of the impact your sponsorship is making.

The women involved with micro loans continue to faithfully payback their loans, and are thankful for the opportunity to make an income. This allows them to buy food for their family, and see the love of Jesus because of your support.

Progress continues at the primary school in the bush. As more students and teachers arrive, the need for water continues to be a big hurdle.

In July, camps were held. Many young people gave their lives to Christ and were taught basic skills to help them live with the struggles they face each day.

People continue to walk miles to receive care at the monthly Medical Clinics.

Another training center in a second location in Tanzania has opened. This allows teens unable to attend school to be able to learn a trade, giving them a future. We have 11 students at this time, and they are so excited to learn and have a hot meal.

A new food bank has been set up to provide for the elderly and HIV widows, who are sick or too old to be able to work.

Thank you. Because of your continued support, not only are the people of East Africa being Educated, Enabled, and Empowered, they are also hearing the Good News of Jesus and seeing His hands at work.

“Help him to defend the poor, to rescue the children of the needy, and to crush their oppressors. He will rescue the poor when they cry to him; he will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them. He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him.” (Ps. 72:4,12-14)
