Having Church in Bad Weather

Just in case you are new to Springs of Grace – I want you to know that we will always do all that we can to have a worship service on Sundays regardless of the weather. We so value the time gathering together with the saints around the Word of God and the exaltation of Christ that cancelling just isn’t something we ever want to do. We believe that their would be very few things worth “taking a risk for” that would have more value than the gathering of the saints for corporate worship. For many of us – it is more important than our necessary bread – and at times it may be a decisive means of grace in our life or the life of a brother or sister.

Sometimes we may not have enough teachers who can get to the building in order to be able to have our bible study classes but we will send an email and post on our website that information by at least 8:00 on Sunday Morning.

The fact that we will still be having our service with whoever can come should not make you take risks in coming that you believe are not warranted. It is NOT a proof of spirituality to come out to church with snow on the ground nor is it a proof or expression of a lack of dedication to not come. Romans 14 says “Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” Let your “coming” or “not coming” be a reflection of your love for Christ and your love for others – then commit to believe that about one another.

This Sunday we are planning as of now to have both Sunday Morning Bible Study and Sunday Morning Worship Service but we will evaluate further as it gets closer.

If any of the young men (young backs) can help shovel snow that is always a blessing that makes it easier for others to come in more safety.

I look forward to worshipping with as many of you as can make it.

Joe
