August 2014 Missions Update – Sveta Gusieva

Hello dear friends and family! August was a vacation time for all of us at the rehab center and we are happy we could renew our strength and come back to work full of energy!

The beginning of August was busy with preparation for my best friend’s wedding. Tania and I have been friends for 14 years and she is my dear friend who brought me to church where I accepted Christ as my Savior. I was happy to help her with the wedding plans and I am really excited that God gave her a kind and loving soul mate.

Carrie arrived in the middle of August, which brought much joy to me personally and to many people on our team. We now rent a two-room apartment together and it takes us just ten minutes to walk to the rehab center. Our apartment is on the eighth floor of a 9-story building and it has a great view of the city. So if you would like to come to visit us, you will now have a place to stay! We will be happy to have all of our friends! When Carrie arrived we had to complete some legal work to register her as a temporary resident. She will soon have a passport that allows her to live in Ukraine for up to one year. We gathered all the documents needed for her to receive this temporary passport and are waiting for the final decision on September 9th.

I also had the opportunity to spend some time with my family and enjoy fellowship with my mom, brother and his girlfriend and my grandma. I am thankfully that I had the time to rest and be quiet to think about the present and future and am grateful to God for renewing my spirit.

Please pray for:

  • Wisdom for me to direct our center and mange new patients.
  • An official part-time PT job for me so that I will be able to receive a pension when I get too old to work.
  • Completion of the registration process for Carrie.
