Just finished a tremendous study this summer of the minor prophets with a group of 20-35 college age (or twenty something) guys and girls. Tonight we saw that we should fear jumping out of the refining fire through which God is purifying us. To do so is to deny the greatness of the expert refiner who is better than money and better than temporary pleasures. He is the Lord who doesn’t change – who loves us with a free and sovereign love – who is a mighty father worthy of honor – who is a God worthy of great praise – who is a GREAT King

AND to jump from the refining fire (only the pure in heart shall see God) will keep us from heaven.

SO – we should fear not trusting in the refiner lest we leap out of the refining fire into the consuming fire of His judgment.
