John 17

Jesus Prays – Glorify Me by being giving up my glory for the glory of others!

What an incredible privilege to be studying John 17 together. As I mentioned in the sermon, much of the truths of this passage which I tried to pass on to you were gleaned from D. Martyn Lloyd Jones sermons on John 17 and Tim Keller’s teaching about the dance within the Trinity that he gleans from C.S. Lewis, who gleans it from Edwards and Flavel – and as God uses His Word and His Spirit in the lives of other men to teach them – we benefit as well. I am not an original thinker or original preacher – but the truths I share with you are truths God drives deep into my heart as I study and pray and read and pray for you and do my best to preach what I think the text means and God wants us to hear.. Jesus said, “Take heed how you listen!” That is – make sure we are listening well – and if God is teaching you and changing you through the messages I preach – give God thanks and give praise to His work in others for His glory and His people’s good. I’m so thankful for the privilege of being a messenger and am thrilled at a Savior who loves us so!
